One of the most famous International Exhibitions, this one focused on the new modern style of architecture, interior decoration, furniture, glass, jewelry and other decorative arts in Europe and throughout the world. The modern style presented at the exposition later became known as Art Deco, after the exposition's name. This volume features architecture and some interiors and includes works by Droz, Genuys, Guimard, Le Corbusier, Mallet-Stevens, and Vaugeois, among others. Intro and text in French. Ex-Libris.
Cloth folio with ties, 13" x 10 1/4"; Title Page-Intro-Table Des Planches (5 pages of text), 12 3/4" x 9 3/4"; 48 loose B&W Plates (most with single image, some with double images), 12 3/4" x 9 3/4". Condition: Folio Cover outside has edge wear, sunning, and small water stains, inside is very clean with some sunning; Title-Intro-Table Des Planches have some edge wear and yellowing; Plates are generally in great shape with the random blemish, age spot, or brownish edge. And with Ex-Libris stamp ('Property of Park Moderne') on Folio Cover and on front of Title Page and Table Des Planches, and on the back of every Plate (also on the front of Plate 8.)
