Pap. Presses du Reel. 2013
Book ID: 94700
Belgian writer and typographer Fernand Baudin is probably most known for his book, ÔThe Gutenberg EffectÕ, in which he addresses the split between writing and typography produced by the invention of moveable type, as well as their potential future reconciliation. In 2008, the prize for the most beautiful book in Wallonia-Brussels was renamed the Fernand Baudin Prize in his honor. In this fifth edition of the prize, an international jury discusses the aesthetics, innovation and production techniques of 26 books, of which nine were deemed superior. The second part of the catalogue, a supplementary booklet, presents visual and technical details of the prize winners.
272 pp. French/Dutch/English.
