LE CORBUSIER
Pap. Paris, 1933
Book ID: 74465
Pre-war Le Corbusier publication. The "crusade" of the title refers to the efforts of a number of prominent people, headed by Gustave Umbdenstock (1866-1940), the conservative chef datelier of the Ecole des Beaux-Arts, to halt the spread of modernist architecture through the country on the grounds of it being inartistic and unpatriotic. The present work forms a response to an earlier public denunciation of the architecture of Le Corbusier and other modernists by Umbdenstock in Paris in 1933. Very good, spine is broken a little at the top. From the library of Kidder-Smith.
French. 89 pp., b&w images.
