Claude Vasconi gained widespread attention with his industrial buildings, elegantly produced and perfect in form. His sculptural assembly halls for Renault on the Seine island in Billancourt (1981 - 1984) evoke the image of an elegantly styled automobile. They became so well known in France that they were honored through a special edition of postage stamps.
