From 18th century City of London Livery Company use to architect-designed floating club houses and changing rooms, these highly decorative and ornate vessels were by turns saved, reconstructed, replaced and then sold or broken up when Oxford could no longer justify their upkeep. They were in use from Victorian and Edwardian times through the 1970's.
