Book ID: 93865

This book documents the life, career and achievements of Nikola Dobrovi (1897-1967), generally considered to be YugoslaviaÍs most important modern architect. Dobrovi is probably best known for his ill-fated Federal Ministry of Defence building, which was bombed in 1999, during the Yugoslav Wars. He realized this building at the end of a prolific career that had started in Prague and continued in and around Dubrovnik before he settled in Belgrade. The net result of this career is a rich and complex body of work that resists easy pigeonholing and simple categorizations and deserves a wider audience than it has had until now.
