Staged during the Spring of 2007, the MXDF studio was the first of a series of international architectural laboratories developing proposals that increase awareness of the role that architecture, planning and landscape disciplines can play in refashioning the environment while simultaneously preserving its most salient characteristics and allowing for change and progress. This joint studio between CCA, UC Berkeley, and the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico focused on the Xochimilco area of Mexico City that is well known for its extended series of canals.
