In this series of photographs accompanied by contemplative texts, Marina Caneve shows us Cavallino Treporti, a small village situated on a sandy, grassy spit of land. With the Adriatic Sea on one side and the Venetian Lagoon on the other, she seeks to unravel the changeability of this middle ground, both through its landscape and in depictions of adolescence. We see the faces of youths, of both locals and those on summer holiday. The portraits merge with the landscape, asking us to think about the future of these kinds of environments. While these teens seek their own inner balance, they remind us of environmental changes due to climate change and rising sea levels.
