This monograph sheds light on the little-known work of Dutch architect Gert Boon (1921-2009), who stuck steadfastly to his principle of searching for coherence through geometry. Boon, who belonged to the same Forum generation as Aldo van Eyck, Herman Hertzberger and Piet Blom, held very decided views but he rarely aired them in public. On the basis of his buildings and his archive in the Netherlands Architecture Institute, this book documents the work and career of a highly singular architect. The book contains a series of commissioned photographs by Roel Backaert of buildings and interiors by Boon, such as the Aquarium and holiday homes in Bergen, a school in Marken, a large housing complex in Arnhem, and several private houses.
