Jonathan Sergison and Stephen Bates started their London-based office in 1996. Known for their research in the field of residential construction, their work also includes urban planning and public buildings, and some projects are grounded in a collaborative approach with other European offices. This issue presents eleven exemplary works in the UK and elsewhere, such as Clandon Park in Surrey, student accommodation in Oxford, Leuven Performing Arts Quarter, and the Maritime Museum in Antwerp. Also featured, competition entries for the World Car Centre in Vigo, Spain, a focus on four new projects utilising bamboo, and Zaha Hadid’s Bee’ah Headquarters under construction.
